The Altboot Procedure refers to loading a fresh Firmware / Operating system on the device. This wipes all previous settings and configurations and is usually a last-ditch effort to fix software problems that we can't resolve using other methods.
After performing an Altboot, the machine will be in a default state and will have to be completely reconfigured for the customers network.
